5 Clinically Proven Benefits Of Slugging
Your Skin
1
You Can Kiss Dry Skin Goodbye
Applying Occlusive Agents to your skin (AKA Slugging) is proven to reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL) by up to 98%, which significantly enhances skin hydration. By forming a protective barrier, these agents effectively trap in moisture, creating deep hydration and a revitalized skin barrier.
2
Quickly Heal Damaged Skin
One study showed that occlusive agents can improve skin healing rates by up to 50%. By providing an intensive layer of hydration, slugging helps soothe inflammation and accelerates the skin's natural repair processes.
3
Keeps Skin Safe From Irritants
According to the British Journal of Dermatology, occlusive agents are effective for enhancing skin barrier function. This has been shown to relieve irritation, prevent air and water pollutants from entering through pores, and even preventing eczema
4
Makes Skin Plump & Elastic
A study in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology found that by enhancing skin hydration levels, Slugging significantly increases skin elasticity and plumpness. This maintains the suppleness of skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines.
5
Relief For Chapped Lips
In harsh, dry, or cold weather, our lips naturally lose moisture which causes chapping. Common chap sticks temporarily alleviate this, but cause excessive chapping later on (likely to boost consumption of the products. Clinical studies show that slugging lips with Occlusive Agents significantly reduces chapping WITHOUT the negative effects.

SLUG BALM is a silky, non-sticky jelly balm made up of a plant-derived, lightweight (yet seriously effective) formula that melts into the skin, creating a cocoon-like environment for your skin to repair itself. Throughout the day, water naturally evaporates from our skin to the outside world. You’re susceptible to excess water loss if your skin barrier, the outermost layer of your skin, is in less than optimal condition. By using Slug Balm, you create an occlusive layer that helps prevent this water loss from occurring. As the final layer on top of your other skincare, it also allows for better absorption of those products
HOW TO USE
As the final step of your PM skincare routine, smooth SLUG BALM over moisturized skin to lock in hydration and help repair skin overnight.
For the FULL SLUG EFFECT, use SLUG BOOST and SLUG CREAM first to deliver hydrating and replenishing ingredients to the skin.
Pro tip: Tap Slug Balm on areas where you want a little extra dewiness during the day - your cheeks, eyelids, and more
INGREDINTS
Plant-based oils provide both occlusive and moisturizing benefits, sealing in hydration as they melt into skin.

Slug Balm has been formulated to be anhydrous (waterless) to serve as an effective occlusive to trap hydration, but also to feel comfortable and lightweight on the skin.
